Biostatistics combines the medical field with math, statistics and science to apply principles of statistics to clinical research. New or experimental treatment research, finding links between lifestyles and diseases, this are examples of the ways in which data calculated by biostatisticians can be applied in a practical context.
Our minor program in Biostatistics is aimed at final year graduate students who are attending the school of Mechanics and Mathematics at Kharkiv National University. Successful applicants must have a strong mathematical background. Through completing a range of courses, students gain a comprehensive understanding of statistical methods in the context of clinical trial analysis, gain an understanding of industry aims and standards, work in teams to perform clinical trial analysis and develop their communication skills, something that deemed to be critical to success in the industry.
